Coldplay make history

Coldplay have become the first British band since the Beatles to have a new entry in the US Top 10. Coldplay's single Speed of Sound entered the chart at No.8 reports BBC online.
The Beatles single Hey Jude entered the US charts Top 10 in in 1968.
The group had a run of US number one hits in the 1960s - but Hey Jude, which made its debut at number 10, was their first single to go straight into the Top 10.
Speed of Sound is the highest new entry since American Idol winner Fantasia went in at number one last July.
Speed of Sound is released in the UK on Monday. Coldplay's previous biggest US hit was Clocks, which reached number 29 in 2003.
Coldplay's album, X&Y, is released in the UK on June 6.

Stripes' New Songs Revealed

THE WHITE STRIPES have confirmed final details of their comeback single ’BLUE ORCHID’.
The track, which is the first song to be lifted from the band’s forthcoming fifth studio album ’Get Behind Me Satan’, is already available through iTunes Worldwide.
However, the retail version of the track is out on May 30 and will be backed by ’Though I Hear You Calling, I Will Not Answer’, ’Who's A Big Baby?’ and a live version of ’You've Got Her In Your Pocket’ recorded in Belfast in August 2004.
A vinyl release will feature ’The Nurse’.
’Get Behind Me Satan’ is due for release on June 6.
