The Sky Drops
The Sky Drops are Rob Montejo (Smashing Orange) and Monica Bulette (Bulette). Based in Wilmington, Delaware, the band members each have their own fine pedigree and began The Sky Drops in the Autumn of 2005. Rob Montejo was the frontman of Smashing Orange, the band that attracted significant attention in the nineties with their mostly rock-oriented sound. In 2005 Smashing Orange released critically acclaimed "1991" album on Elephant Stone Records. Monika Bullette enjoyed recent success with the 2005 Internet release of her debut album "The Secrets" winning international fans and positive critical reviews.
The Sky Drops mix refined pop melodies of Smashing Orange with the emotional melancholy of Bulette delivering a beautiful pop sound that is in any respect a step forward in the work of both artist. Nice post! I'm a big Black Rebel Motorcycle Club fan and The Sky Drops certainly wouldn't be out of place on a concert bill with BRMC. This is dense, fuzzy, melodic music and the addition of the female voice really kicks it up a notch in quality. I'd love to hear The Sky Drops live.
